Farid Shahbazli, chairman of Reformist Youth Public Union and human rights defender Ahmad Shahidov, being on a visit to Ganja, visited the Azerbaijan State Agricultural University. They met with the rector of ASAU, correspondent member of ANAS, professor Ibrahim Jafarov and the professor-teacher collective of the university and got acquainted with activity of this university.
Speaking about the importance of the Azerbaijan State Agricultural University in the development of the non-oil sector, RYPU Chairman Farid Shahbazli said that the specialists of this university are the leading forces in the development of agriculture in Azerbaijan. ASAU is also a nationally recognized university, and rector-student relationships here meet modern challenges, said Farid Shahbazli. He also added that according to the decision of the Reformist Youth Public Union, Rector of ASAU, Corresponding Member of ANAS, Professor Ibrahim Jafarov has been awarded the Friend of Youths National Award for his contribution to the development of state youth policy in Azerbaijan and care for students.
Later, human rights defender Ahmad Shahidov said that as a result of President Ilham Aliyev’s policy on transforming oil capital into human capital, agriculture in Azerbaijan has grown rapidly and there is a great need for national cadres in this direction. Ahmad Shahidov noted that the Azerbaijan State Agricultural University has great importance in this regard and stressed the necessity of further development of international relations of this educational institution and attraction of foreign students to ASAU.
ASAU rector Ibrahim Jafarov noted his appreciation for the award and said that Azerbaijan lives today with the policy of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, and is experiencing a dynamic development with the strength and political will of Mr. President Ilham Aliyev: “Only recently, more than 150 young teachers have been recruited to our university. Our success has been achieved thanks to the support of the President. We feel the care of the Minister of Agriculture every moment. We are always with the youth and student.”
