“Miatsum Union plan will undermine Armenia’s position in international arena” – Ahmad Shahidov

The Miatsum Union has been established in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan in Nagorno-Karabakh. It is reported that the organization will actively participate in socio-political life of the so-called regime. The organization is also expected to participate in the “presidential and parliamentary elections” in separatist regime. The main goal of the Miatsum Union is to unite Karabakh with Armenia.

Commenting on this issue on Public Television, head of the Azerbaijan Institute for Democracy and Human Rights, human rights defender Ahmad Shahidov said that the plan was put forward by Nicol Pashinyan’s government to the domestic audience: “The Armenian side does not speak this way during international negotiations. Because they understand that it will lead to more military operations in the region. The Miatsum Union plan is only intended for internal audiences and will seriously undermine Armenia’s position in the international arena at a later stage.”
