On October 16, “Vatanim Azerbaijan” program of Leader Television discussed the speech of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev at the Plenary Session of the 16th Annual Meeting of the Valday International Discussion Club and his statement “Karabakh is Azerbaijan!”. The guests of presenter Elvin Abdulkadirov were the coordinator of the Information Center for Azerbaijani Captives and Hostages, human rights defender Ahmad Shahidov and Chairman of the Reformist Youth Public Union Farid Shahbazli.
Note that the Plenary Session of the 16th Annual Meeting of Valday International Discussion Club was held in Sochi, Russia, on 3 October. President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended the session.
Russian President Vladimir Putin and King Abdullah II of Jordan addressed the session and said that the issues on the agenda were related to Asia.
Then President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev delivered a speech. Ilham Aliyev thanked the President of Russia for the invitation to the plenary session and looked at the development of Russian-Azerbaijani relations.
Speaking about the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, President Ilham Aliyev paid attention to the consequences of the Armenian occupation and said that four UN Security Council resolutions on settlement of the conflict have not been implemented for more than 25 years. President Ilham Aliyev said that statement by Armenian Prime Minister “Karabakh is part of Armenia and point” is false: “Karabakh is a land of ancient Azerbaijan. Thus, Karabakh is Azerbaijan and a sign of exclamation”.
