“Nobody is interested in disabled children in Gakh” – Ahmad Shahidov visits helpless families in Ambarchay village of Gakh

Visiting families with young children born with congenital diseases, Ahmad Shahidov was interested in their social security and was closely acquainted with the treatment and care of the disabled children.

First, the candidate for deputy visited the teacher’s family and listened to the care of a mother of two physically disabled children. The mother said that her 16-year-old son is seriously ill and needs a wheelchair, added that her son can be treated overseas. The mother said her daughter’s eyes are ill, and they had not received any help from local officials.

Later, Ahmad Shahidov visited another family, was concerned about an 11-year-old boy’s illness and learned that the family could not cure their child because of poverty.

Biography: Ahmad Shahidov was born in 1982 in the Gakh region. He graduated from Baku Slavic University with bachelor’s, master’s and post graduate degrees. He is PhD in Philology. He graduated from the State Law Faculty of the Russian Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Russian Federation in Moscow.

He is a director of the Azerbaijan Institute for Democracy and Human Rights.

He is a human rights defender, socio-political activist, journalist, poet, writer, author of 7 books.

Besides that he has attended a series of international conferences, held various meetings with the top officials of the European institutions, human rights, watchdog organizations and signed mutual understanding agreements as a human rights defender.
