Attending at the meeting Ahmad Shahidov Head of Azerbaijani Institute for Democracy and Human Rights (AIDHR) made a speech on judicial systems of Azerbaijan and highlighted negative aspects. Head of AIDHR noted that all trial cases are not necessarily transparent, in some case human rights advocates and journalists are restricted to observe trails. He said that apart from with state confidential cases all trials have to be open to observers.

Dedicating his speech to the negative aspects, Head of AIDHR noted that some trail cases are prolonged for years on purpose in Azerbaijan. In contrast, some cases are concluded with a short of time. He went on to say that these very negative facts prevent accused to take advantage of his/her rights.

According to Ahmad Shahidov, there are always satisfied and unsatisfied sides at trials and this is quite normal. He concluded that transparent courts and juridical systems are of pivotal importance for societies.
