“1 million people are refugees as a result of armenian aggression” – Ahmad Shahidov criticized the official Yerevan in OSCE

27-09-2016_640On September 27, the Human Dimension Implementation Meeting (HDIM) of OSCE participating States, organized by OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) continued its work in Warsaw, Poland. Representatives of OSCE participating States, OSCE institutions, and OSCE executive structures, representatives of inter-governmental organizations, legal professionals, representatives of civil society and researchers from 57 participating States took part in discussions.

Taking an active part in discussions on the topic of “Fundamental freedoms: freedom of movement”, Head of Azerbaijan Institute for Democracy and Human Rights Ahmad Shahidov delivered a report on the freedom of movement in Azerbaijan. Speaking about the Referendum, held last day human rights defender Ahmad Shahidov quoted an Article 28 of the Constitution of Azerbaijan and said that every citizen’s freedom of movement within the country and abroad is ensured.

Talking about the rights of 1 million Azerbaijanis displaced from their ancestral lands as a result of aggression of Armenia, Head of AIDHR urged the official Yerevan to abandon its aggressive policy, as well as demanded to release hostages from Kalbajar – Dilgam Asgarov and Shahbaz Guliyev.

At the end of his speech, Ahmad Shahidov said that Chairman of IRFS Emin Huseynov spreads false informations during the discussions of the OSCE and urged the participants to be careful and not to use inaccurate informations.
