On April 28, the opening ceremony of “Erasmus Student Exchange”, organised by Reformist Youths Public Union with the financial support of the Council on State Support to NGOs under the Auspices of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, was held in Odlar Yurdu University. The lectures and reports were presented in the conference, which took place on implementation of Turkish experience in universities. Students’ questions were answered.
Opening the conference, Chairman of Reformist Youths Public Union Mr. Farid Shahbazli gave information about the education system in Turkey and spoke about the possibilities for Azerbaijani students to study in various universities of Europe via the Erasmus Student Exchange Program.
Then, the Director of International Relations Department of Istanbul Aydin University Mr. Salman Arslanbash made a detailed report about the capabilities of the Istanbul Aydin University and spoke about the educational scholarships for Azerbaijani students.
Speaking to young people in Odlar Yurdu University, Head of Azerbaijan Institute for Democracy and Human Rights Dr. Ahmad Shahidov talked about the Erasmus Student Exchange Program and stressed its role in promotion of realities of Azerbaijan: “Erasmus is a unique opportunity not only to study abroad. Azerbaijani young people who benefited from this program, become active propagandists and unofficial ambassadors of Azerbaijan abroad. The spread of realities of Azerbaijan – such as Nagornoy Karabakh Conflict, Khodjaly Genocide and other important issues, in Europe is one of the most important opportunities of this program for young people. In this regard, it needs to show more interest to Erasmus program and take advantage of it.”
Then, the head of Youth and Sport Department of Narimanov District Najaf Novruzov, researcher of National Academy of Sciences PhD Jahid Ismayiloglu, graduate of Turkey’s Bakhcheshir University Hajibay Heydarli, graduate of Marmara University Afsaladdin Aghalarov and others spoke to students of Odlar Yurdu University, as well.
