Ahmad Shahidov spoke about ways to combat religious radicalism and extremism in Ganja

An event entitled “Increasing the role of youth in the fight against religious radicalism and extremism” was held on April 29 at the Cultural Center named after Mahsati Ganjavi in ​​Ganja, organized by the “Reformist Youth” Public Union and supported by the Agency for State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations.

Member of Parliament of Azerbaijan Mrs. Parvin Karimzadeh, Head of Ganja City Youth and Sports Department Mr. Hamid Nasirov, Head of Ganja Regional Department of the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations Mr. Hasan Mammadov, Editor-in-Chief of AzHaber Web Portal Mr. Hajibey Heydarli, Ganja Imamzadeh Shrine Mosque religious community Representative and other speakers addressed the youth and the public of Ganja.

Opening the event, Mr. Farid Shahbazli, head of the Reformist Youth Public Union, spoke about the urgency of the issue and state-religion relations.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Ahmad Shahidov, head of the Azerbaijan Institute for Democracy and Human Rights, described religious radicalism and extremism as a global threat and spoke about the preventive measures taken by Azerbaijan to prevent this threat, as well as the factors that young people should take into account.
