On October 5, the OSCE Human Dimension Meeting continued its work in Warsaw, the capital of Poland.
Today’s discussions were about “Democratic law-making, independence of the judiciary, right to a fair trial, including
in case of armed conflict”. The head of the Turkish Institute for Democracy and Human Rights, Dr. Ahmad Shahidov, who closely participated in the discussions, informed about the judicial reforms implemented in the Republic of Turkiye and talked about outside interventions in the Turkish courts.
Dr. Ahmad Shahidov, who spoke about the influence of foreign embassies accredited in Turkiye on Turkish courts, noted that the serious interference of US and some European countries’ ambassadors in court proceedings related to members of a number of terrorist organizations is a cause for concern.
Ahmad Shahidov, who considers the presentation of FETO, PKK and other terrorist organizations representatives and Osman Kavala and others like him as “journalists” or “political activists” and granting them political asylum in Western countries as a crime, said this is a clear disrespect to the Turkish state and Turkish courts. In his speech, Ahmad Şahidov harshly criticized the open support of the USA and European countries to FETO and PKK terrorist organizations.
This speech of Dr. Ahmad Shahidov caused the protest of the representative of the US State Department.
