Ahmad Shahidov to talk about Dilgam Asgarov and Shahbaz Gouliyev at OSCE Meeting

OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) held it’s another assembly under the title of “The Human Dimension Implementation”in Warsaw, Poland on October 2. The meeting agenda included issues of rights of migrants, refugees and IDPs and Ahmad Shahidov, Head of the Azerbaijani Institute for Democracy and Human Rights (AIDHR) read out a report at the meeting.

Prior to starting his speech Head of AIDHR addressed a question to EU countries Delegations by asking whether EU ordinary citizens face restrictions, pressures or insults while traveling from one city to another one. Following the question which met by audience interests Ahmad Shahidov stressed that Azerbaijani citizens encounter above mentioned obstacles. He showed photos of Dilgam Asgarov and Shahbaz Gouliyev who were taken hostages by Armenian armed forces on July 11 and gave detailed information regarding their condition.

He went on saying that hundreds of Azerbaijani citizens were captivated by Armenian side. He also presented a book “Release Us from Captivity” prepared by the State Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing People. Head of AIDHR noted that the book contains detailed information concerning the tortured hostages of Azerbaijani citizens taken by the Armenian armed forces.
