“The official institutions and civil society are working systematically on hostages from Kalbajar” – Ahmad Shahidov gave an interview to “Sahar” channel

In his live interview to “Free Arena” program in Hamburg, Germany, Head of AIDHR informed about the 23rd Meeting of OSCE Ministerial Council and spoke about the work being done within the framework of the meeting

During his working visit to Germany, Head of Azerbaijan Institute for Democracy and Human Rights Ahmad Shahidov gave an interview to “Sahar” channel of Islamic Republic of Iran. Human rights defender, who joined to live broadcast of “Free Arena” program on December 10 from Hamburg, informed about the 23rd Meeting of OSCE Ministerial Council, which took place on 8-9 December.

Representatives of OSCE Participating States, OSCE institutions, and OSCE executive structures, representatives of inter-governmental organizations, legal professionals, representatives of civil society and researchers from 57 participating States participated in the meeting. Human rights defender Ahmad Shahidov said that the work done during German OSCE Chairmanship, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, as well as the other conflicts in OSCE region were discussed and Austria, which will chair the OSCE next year, announced its priorities. During the meeting, the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia held a meeting with participation of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs.

Speaking about the works done within the framework of 23rd Meeting of OSCE Ministerial Council in Hamburg, Head of Azerbaijan Institute for Democracy and Human Rights Ahmad Shahidov talked about the meetings with diplomats from various countries and discussions on Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Being in close contact with European journalists, human rights defender spoke about the hostages from Kalbajar – Dilgam Asgarov and Shahbaz Guliyev and said that the false judicial process in Nagorno-Karabakh is contrary to international law. Underlined that the official institutions and civil society are working systematically on hostages from Kalbajar, Head of AIDHR said that Armenia clearly violates the requirements of the Geneva Convention.
