{"id":15567,"date":"2023-05-29T12:46:20","date_gmt":"2023-05-29T08:46:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/shahidov.com\/en\/?p=15567"},"modified":"2024-09-17T21:51:19","modified_gmt":"2024-09-17T17:51:19","slug":"president-of-trnc-ersin-tatar-receives-dr-ahmad-shahidov-the-head-of-institute-for-democracy-and-human-rights","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/shahidov.com\/en\/?p=15567","title":{"rendered":"President of TRNC Ersin Tatar receives Dr. Ahmad Shahidov, the  Head of Institute for Democracy and Human Rights"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/F_QE6CXn5Tw\" width=\"750\" height=\"422\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>President Ersin Tatar has been awarded \u201cService to the Turkic World\u201d by the head of Institute for Democracy and Human Rights Dr. Ahmad Shahidov.<\/p>\n<p>President of TRNC Ersin Tatar received the head of Institute for Democracy and Human Rights Dr. Ahmad Shahidov.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking during the meeting, President Tatar once again congratulated President of the Republic of T\u00fcrkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdo\u011fan, for winning the Presidential election.<\/p>\n<p>Pointing out that the mentality of the Greek Cypriot side has not changed, President Tatar said that the Greek Cypriot Side\u2019s aim is to \u201csever the ties of the Turkish Cypriot People with T\u00fcrkiye, and to make Cyprus a Hellenic Island&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>President Tatar noted that the Turkish Cypriot people have the right to determine their own future as a separate People, adding that the \u201ca basis for settlement needs to reaffirm the inherent sovereign equality and equal international status of the Turkish Cypriot People. The way to a sustainable and viable settlement is on the basis of two sovereign States which co-exist side-by-side in a cooperative relationship,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Pointing to the geopolitical importance of the island of Cyprus, President Tatar said it is \u201cimportant to preserve the Turkish-Greek balance\u201d in Cyprus and the region and said \u201cthe status of the TRNC and acknowledgement of TRNC &#8216;s existence has increased following the positive developments\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Stating that he is following the work of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev with admiration, President Tatar expressed his wishes for \u201crelations to be developed with Azerbaijan across different fields in the coming period and to increase political contacts, with the support of Motherland T\u00fcrkiye\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>President Tatar commemorated the May 28, Independence Day of Azerbaijan and conveyed warm greetings on behalf of the TRNC to the President and People of Azerbaijan.<\/p>\n<p>Head of Institute for Democracy and Human Rights Dr. Ahmad Shahidov presented President Ersin Tatar with the &#8220;Service to the Turkic World Award\u201d and said that he closely followed the efforts and contributions made in recent years for the TRNC to take its place in the international community as an independent State.<\/p>\n<p><a
