During the meetings, President Ilham Aliyev and Ahmad Al-Sharaa discussed prospects for expanding economic, energy, and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries. The talks focused on the export of Azerbaijani gas to Syria via Turkey, post-war reconstruction efforts, and peace initiatives in the Middle East.<\/p>\n<p>Commenting on this visit in an interview with Egypt\u2019s reputable Al Qahera television channel from Washington, international affairs expert Dr. Ahmad Shahidov assessed the regional significance of the visit and Azerbaijan\u2019s role in this process. In the interview, Dr. Shahidov emphasized that Azerbaijan has always supported Syria\u2019s territorial integrity and sovereignty and is ready to actively contribute to the country\u2019s reconstruction and economic development in the post-war period.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Ahmad Shahidov underlined that energy and diplomatic cooperation between Baku and Damascus could open new opportunities for the region.
