According to Politico, both countries are exploring the possibility of restoring wetlands in border regions, aiming at both military security and combating climate change.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to ARB24 from Washington, political analyst Ahmad Shahidov emphasized that this initiative is not merely an environmental project but also a strategic defense measure:<br \/>\n\u201cThere are historical examples of this. For instance, during World War II, the Belarusian swamps slowed down the advance of German tanks. Today, Finland and Poland are trying to adapt that experience to modern conditions. It is significant both for protecting NATO borders and for strengthening ecological policy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Shahidov also pointed to the ongoing secret energy talks between the U.S. and Russia:<br \/>\n\u201cWashington is exerting pressure on Moscow while at the same time seeking compromise in the energy market in exchange for concessions.
