{"id":18740,"date":"2025-10-10T14:02:10","date_gmt":"2025-10-10T10:02:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/shahidov.com\/en\/?p=18740"},"modified":"2026-03-23T09:47:07","modified_gmt":"2026-03-23T05:47:07","slug":"ahmad-shahidov-responds-to-armenian-revanchists-at-osce-warsaw-conference-justice-for-war-crimes-will-prevail","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/shahidov.com\/en\/?p=18740","title":{"rendered":"Ahmad Shahidov responds to Armenian revanchists at OSCE Warsaw Conference: \u201cJustice for war crimes will prevail\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Ahmad Shahidov responds to Armenian revanchists at OSCE: \u201cJustice for war crimes will prevail\u201d\" width=\"1110\" height=\"624\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/DNv3RVN-s8I?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The annual OSCE Human Dimension Implementation Meeting (HDIM 2025) continues in Warsaw, the capital of Poland.<\/p>\n<p>Launched on October 6 and running until October 17, the high-level event brings together diplomats, human rights defenders, journalists, and representatives of international organizations from all 57 OSCE participating states.<\/p>\n<p>On October 10, 2025, the fifth panel session focused on international law, accountability for war crimes, and the universality of justice.<\/p>\n<p>During the session, Dr. Ahmad Shahidov, Director of the Azerbaijan Institute for Democracy and Human Rights, emphasized the importance of applying international justice principles equally in all regions.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Shahidov noted that international law must function not only in Europe but across all conflict zones worldwide. He stressed that the approach to war crimes should not be selective and that justice must be ensured universally: \u201cIn Ukraine, Russian missiles hit homes, schools, and hospitals \u2014 and the world recognizes this as a war crime. If these crimes are punished in Europe, the same principle must apply in the South Caucasus. Justice has no borders.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He also underlined that those currently on trial in Baku \u2014 Ruben Vardanyan, Arayik Harutyunyan, Bako Sahakyan and others \u2014 are not activists or journalists, but individuals accused of crimes against civilians during Armenia\u2019s decades-long military aggression against Azerbaijan.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Shahidov stressed that the trials are being conducted openly and transparently, in full accordance with international law and due process standards: \u201cIf the world calls it justice when Russian generals are held accountable for bombing Mariupol, it must do the same when Armenian commanders are tried for bombing Ganja.
