While familiarizing him with PACE structure, head of AIDHR toured main building of the organization and plenary sessions\u2019 hall.<\/p>\n<p>Latter on, Ahmad Shahidov met with Alexandre Guessel, Director of Political Advice of Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. Touching upon current situation in Azerbaijan Mr. Shahidov further elaborated on the state of democracy and human rights. For his part, official representative of PACE emphasized importance of Azerbaijani assuming the chairmanship over the organization, close collaboration between Azerbaijan and European institutions.<\/p>\n<p>Delivering detailed information regarding AIDHR, Mr. Shahidov added that the organization under his chairmanship seeks to establish close ties with leading democracy and human rights organizations of Europe and build up bilateral relations with PACE.
