On September 21, the Human Dimension Implementation Meeting (HDIM) of OSCE Participating States, organized by OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) continued its work in Warsaw, Poland. Representatives of OSCE Participating States, OSCE institutions, and OSCE executive structures, representatives of inter-governmental organizations, legal professionals, representatives of civil society and researchers from 57 Participating States took part in discussions.
Taking an active part in discussions on the topic of “Freedom of peaceful assembly”, Head of Azerbaijan Institute for Democracy and Human Rights Dr. Ahmad Shahidov spoke about the freedom of peaceful assembly and association in Azerbaijan and gave information about the last rallies of opposition parties. Noted that the governmentopposition parties hold rally 3 times a week, Ahmad Shahidov stressed that the proposed amendments to the Constitution of Azerbaijan will also contribute to a more perfect level of legislation in this field.
Making a remark to biased statements of US Ambassador to OSCE Mr. Daniel Bayer on Azerbaijan, Head of AIDHR Mr. Ahmad Shahidov talk about the gross violation of freedom of assembly in US and said that the racial discrimination is in peak in this country.
