In recent days, discussions are being held regarding the activities of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Azerbaijan. The double standards exhibited by this institution in relation to Azerbaijan are being seriously criticized. Azerbaijan, which has been subjected to military aggression by Armenia and occupied 20 percent of its territories in the last 30 years, is dissatisfied with the activities of the International Committee of the Red Cross.
Despite the fact that more than 4,000 Azerbaijanis went missing during the Karabakh war, it is difficult to say that the ICRC carried out consistent and purposeful efforts to find and return them.
Dr. Ahmad Shahidov, a human rights defender who gave a statement on the issue to ARB24 Television, said that if the International Red Cross Committee wants to stay in Azerbaijan and continue its activities, it should make serious corrections in its policy regarding Azerbaijan.
