US President Donald Trump’s harsh statements regarding the Russia-Ukraine war, the policy of the Ukrainian leadership, and military aid programs have caused serious discussions in international media and political circles. Deepening disagreements between Washington and Kiev, especially the threat of halting supplies within the framework of the PURL program and strikes being carried out on Russia’s oil refineries, are creating new risks for global security and energy markets.
Speaking to ARB24 Television regarding the matter, political commentator Ahmad Shahidov stated that the foreign policy course and priorities of the new US administration are leading to radical changes on a global scale. The expert noted that Trump’s preference for dialogue with Vladimir Putin and his open criticism of Volodymyr Zelensky show that coordination within the Western coalition has weakened.
Ahmad Shahidov drew attention to the fact that interruptions arising in the military-logistics support mechanisms between the US and European countries could seriously limit Ukraine’s air defense capabilities. The political analyst emphasized that against the background of current global tensions, the inability of the parties to compromise leads to the prolongation of the conflict and an increase in negative impacts on the world economy.
