“There is a historic chance for peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia” – Dr. Ahmad Shahidov spoke at the OSCE Meeting

On April 22, the conference on “The Role of Civil Society in the Promotion and Protection of International Human Rights Law and International Humanitarian Law: Supplementary Human Dimension Meeting I” under the organization of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights started its work in Vienna, the capital of Austria.

At the meeting attended by ambassadors, diplomats and government officials of 57 OSCE member states, issues of human rights and humanitarian law in the OSCE region were discussed.

Human rights defender Dr. Ahmad Shahidov, who participated in the meeting, spoke about the ongoing peace negotiations between Azerbaijan and Armenia and highly appreciated the agreements reached. Emphasizing the role of civil society representatives in achieving peace in the South Caucasus, Dr. Ahmad Shahidov asked the OSCE member states to support the Azerbaijan-Armenia peace process.
