On April 23, the conference on “The Role of Civil Society in the Promotion and Protection of International Human Rights Law and International Humanitarian Law: Supplementary Human Dimension Meeting I” under the organization of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights continued its work in Vienna, the capital of Austria.
At the meeting attended by ambassadors, diplomats and government officials of 57 OSCE member states, issues of human rights and humanitarian law in the OSCE region were discussed.
Dr. Ahmad Shahidov, a human rights defender who participated in the meeting, drew attention to ongoing war crimes in the Middle East and stated that the Israeli Army committed genocide in Palestine and European institutions remained silent. Dr. Ahmad Shahidov harshly criticizes Israel, noted that no steps have been taken to protect the rights of innocent people, children and women killed in Palestine.
