Human rights organizations of Azerbaijan and Qatar have signed an agreement on joint activities

On April 28-30, the delegation led by the Chairperson of the National Human Rights Committee of the State of Qatar, HE Mrs. Maryam bint Abdullah Al Attiyah, who was on a business trip to Azerbaijan, held a number of meetings in Baku. Within the framework of the visit, bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Qatar were discussed and prospects for future cooperation were reviewed.

On April 30, a meeting was held between the National Human Rights Committee of Qatar and the Azerbaijan Institute of Democracy and Human Rights. During the meeting, issues of cooperation between the two organizations were discussed and an agreement was reached on joint activities.

It was noted that the Qatar National Human Rights Committee and the Azerbaijan Institute of Democracy and Human Rights have 10 years of cooperation, and a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the parties several years ago in Doha. It is necessary to renew this cooperation agreement against the background of the processes that took place in the world during the past period and the new realities that have arisen.

For this purpose, a new cooperation agreement was signed between the two organizations at a meeting between the National Human Rights Committee of Qatar and the Azerbaijan Institute of Democracy and Human Rights.

The agreement on cooperation was signed by HE Mrs. Maryam bint Abdullah Al Attiyah, Chairperson of Qatar National Human Rights Committee, and Dr. Ahmad Shahidov, head of Azerbaijan Institute for Democracy and Human Rights.
