As a result of the 24-hour anti-terror operations carried out by the Azerbaijani Army in Karabakh, the separatist regime in Karabakh surrendered and accepted the terms put forward by Baku.
Today, Karabakh was completely cleared of armenian militants. As a result of anti-terrorist measures, Azerbaijan restored its sovereignty. On September 21, the first meeting between armenian representatives of Karabakh and official Baku took place in the city of Yevlakh, Azerbaijan.
Dr. Ahmad Shahidov, a human rights defender speaking on the subject on Egypt’s Al Ghad Television, noted that the armenians in Karabakh will be reintegrated into the Azerbaijani society and will have all the rights and freedoms stipulated by the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan. However, expectations that armenians in Karabakh will have special privileges and status are unfounded. Because, like other citizens of Azerbaijan, armenians in Karabakh should understand their rights and freedoms as well as their responsibilities and respect the laws of Azerbaijan.
