Dr. Ahmad Shahidov, speaking at the international conference held in Doha, criticized the double standards in approaching conflicts

On February 6-7, an international human rights conference was held in Doha, the capital of Qatar, jointly organized by the National Human Rights Committee of Qatar and the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights. The international conference entitled “Food Justice From a Human Rights Perspective” was attended by human rights defenders, state and government officials, media representatives and officials of international organizations from all over the world.

Speaking on the second day of the conference, human rights defender Dr. Ahmad Shahidov criticized the implementation of double standards by international organizations and Western countries during conflicts in the world. Drawing a parallel between Israel-Palestine, Ukraine-Russia and Azerbaijan-Armenia conflicts, Dr. Ahmad Shahidov pointed out that there is a different approach to the same type of conflicts and that the biased and dual approach exhibited by the UN Security Council and other international organizations in resolving conflicts is unacceptable.
