The hatred of the Armenian society towards Azerbaijan and Turkiye was discussed at the meeting of the OSCE in Vienna

Today, the international conference on “Torture and Other Grave Breaches of International Humanitarian Law and Gross Violations of International Human Rights Law: Supplementary Human Dimension Meeting II” organized by the OSCE Chairpersonship of North Macedonia, OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) started its work in Vienna, the capital of Austria.

The issue of current conflicts and cases of torture in the OSCE region was widely discussed at the meeting attended by representatives from OSCE participating States, OSCE institutions and other executive structures and international organizations, civil society and other stakeholders and representatives of state institutions from 57 countries.

Speaking at the event, the head of the Turkish Institute for Democracy and Human Rights, Dr. Ahmad Shahidov, spoke about the growing hate propaganda in the Armenian society against the background of the tensions between Armenia and Azerbaijan in recent weeks, including the burning of the flags of the Republics of Azerbaijan and Turkiye in Yerevan, and the war crimes committed by Armenia.

Speaking about the two Azerbaijani soldiers – Agshin Babirov and Huseyn Akhundov, who are held captive in Armenia and subjected to constant torture, human rights defender Dr. Ahmad Shahidov said that Armenia grossly violated the requirements of international law and asked the OSCE member states to put pressure on official Yerevan.
