Ahmad Shahidov: “Human rights, democracy and territorial integrity of countries will be prime issues of the meeting’s agenda”
OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) started its next general assembly in Warsaw, Poland on September 22. The meeting which brings together OSCE member states representatives, Ambassadors, heads of NGOs and leading diplomats has a focus on conducting discussions on human rights and democracy, speeches on fundamental freedoms, free media, freedom of assembly, freedom of religion (freedom of belief), rights of national minorities and hearing various reports. It is expected that heated discussions covering recent crises in Ukraine will be made during the meeting.
The meeting attended by Ahmad Shahidov, Head of the Azerbaijani Institute for Democracy and Human Rights (AIDHR) seeks to have hearings related to Azerbaijan. In accordance with the information provided by Ahmad Shahidov, in his speech Mr. Shahidov will highlight state of democracy, human rights and fundamental freedoms in South Caucasus region. He will also broadly talk about Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
