Ahmad Shahidov commented on the latest situation with captives and hostages at ARB 24 channel

In May, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) representatives again visited Dilgam Asgarov and Shahbaz Guliyev, Azerbaijani hostages detained by Armenia in the course of the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

“We keep visiting people detained during the conflict, on a regular basis,” – the ICRC Azerbaijan Office says.

Making a statement on the issue, Ahmad Shahidov, Coordinator of the Information Center for Azerbaijani Captives and Hostages, said that although the situation with the Azerbaijani hostages is generally stable, the anxiety still remains: “According to its mandate, the ICRC visits detained individuals to monitor treatment and conditions of detention and help to ensure that the detainees are able to maintain contact with their families. However, we have not received any letters, photos or videos from Dilgam Asgarov yet. Dilgam’s family has been worried for already 1 year and 7 months.”
