Public debate on youth’s individual development and career plans was held in Sheki city

Yesterday, a public discussion on youth’s development and career plans was held in Sheki, jointly organized by the Sheki City Youth and Sports Department and the Reformist Youth Public Union. At the meeting with active youth of Sheki city, head of Sheki City Youth and Sports Department, deputy chairman of NAP Sheki organization Mr. Vugar Isgandarov spoke about the main goals of the State Youth Policy in Azerbaijan, noted that youth development, education and career opportunities are rapidly expanding in Sheki, and local youth are successfully represented in national and international competitions.

Chairman of the Reformist Youth Public Union Mr. Farid Shahbazli said that rapid development of the world sets new goals in front of Azerbaijani youth and young people should pay special attention to their activities to achieve these goals. According to Farid Shahbazli, the conditions created for the development of youth in Azerbaijan contribute to the formation of a youth army, which is ready to respond to modern challenges.

Human rights defender Ahmad Shahidov spoke on the role of Azerbaijani youth in ensuring the national interests of the country on international platforms and stressed that the youth can do more in bringing the truths of Azerbaijan to the world community. The human rights defender gave detailed information on the humanitarian consequences of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict – the work carried out to protect the rights of Azerbaijani refugees and internally displaced persons, as well as the rights of captives and hostages, and spoke about the work that young people can do to prevent the biased attitude towards Azerbaijan in the light of the double standards observed in the world.

Then the young people shared their ideas and thoughts and discussed the challenges ahead.
