The illegal participation of Konstantin Zatulin, the deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots, who is known for his pro-Armenian position, in the said “forum” is another provocation against Azerbaijan.
Commenting to ARB24 Television on this, human rights defender Ahmad Shahidov said that the actions and statements of the Russian MP are contrary to international norms: “Konstantin Zatulin’s illegal visits to the occupied Azerbaijani lands and statements of support for the separatist regime are contrary to the norms and principles of international law and the Azerbaijani side closely follows his activity and takes adequate steps.”
As you know, due to his repeated illegal visits to the occupied territories of Azerbaijan, Zatulin’s name appears in the relevant “black list”. His participation in this “forum” and his statements bearing the character of groundless attacks against Azerbaijan fundamentally contradict the official position of Russia on this issue. Relations between Azerbaijan and Russia at the level of strategic partnership are successfully developing on the basis of close contacts between the presidents of both states.
