The implementation of the peace agreement signed between Armenia, Russia and Azerbaijan has begun. Russia’s 1960 peacekeeping force has already been deployed in Nagorno-Karabakh, and armenians are being evacuated from Kalbajar, Agdam and Lachin under the control of the Russian army.
Turkey, which is closely involved in resolving the conflict, is also expected to deploy 1,960 troops in the region. There is already an official agreement between Turkey and Russia. Extensive discussions are underway on the location of the Turkish army in Nagorno-Karabakh.
Speaking to TRT Arabia, the head of the Azerbaijan Institute for Democracy and Human Rights, human rights defender Ahmad Shahidov, said that Turkish peacekeepers are also expected to arrive in the region.
