“Today’s PACE resolution hinders the Azerbaijan-Armenia peace process” – Dr. Ahmad Shahidov told ARB24 channel

An urgent debate under the title “Ensuring free and safe access through the Lachin Corridor” took place today in Strasbourg, France, within the framework of the Summer Session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. In the discussions initiated by the Armenian side, the resolution prepared by Irish MP Paul Gavan, a member of PACE, was heard.

This resolution, which is full of biased and slanderous information, contains untrue claims that “travel is restricted in the Lachin Corridor and the lives of Armenian residents in Karabakh are in danger.”

The members of the Azerbaijani delegation presented opposing arguments in these discussions and expressed their views on the points reflected in the prepared resolution.

Dr. Ahmad Shahidov, a human rights defender who closely participated in the PACE Summer Session, said in an interview to ARB24 channel that this resolution prepared by the PACE rapporteur is a biased and politically ordered document and said that this document prepared for political purposes hinders the ongoing peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
