Today, the State Border Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SBS) released information about the illegalities committed by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in the Karabakh region. It became clear that the representatives of the organization abused their authority and engaged in actual smuggling in the region. After this revealing information, the Baku representative office of the International Committee of the Red Cross released information admitting the illegal transportation to Khankendi via Lachin.
In his interview to ARB24 Television, a human rights defender Dr. Ahmad Shahidov said that the activities of the International Committee of the Red Cross have been ambiguous for many years and mainly serve the insidious interests of Armenians: “Recent events have also shown that the International Committee of the Red Cross is more concerned with serving the occupying interests of the Armenians in a one-sided manner than with humanitarian goals. I think that from now on the functioning of the ICRC Iravan Office on the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan is unacceptable, and Armenians living in Karabakh should contact the Baku Office of the organization regarding their issues. Because the latest activity of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Karabakh is not only a gross violation of the law at the legal level, but also a serious international scandal.”
