What prevents peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia? – Dr. Ahmad Shahidov commented on ARB24 channel

The “High Level Week” of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly has started at the headquarters of the United Nations (UN) in New York. It is expected that a meeting between the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia – Jeyhun Bayramov and Ararat Mirzoyan – will take place within the session. Negotiations on a peace treaty between the two countries are ongoing.

Political analyst Dr. Ahmad Shahidov spoke on the subject at the “Agenda” program of ARB24 Television and said that the peace talks between Baku and Yerevan are continuing intensively. However, there are a number of factors that hinder the achievement of peace. There is a struggle between the West and Russia regarding the implementation of the mediation role in the peace talks between Azerbaijan and Armenia. If the meeting between the parties takes place in New York, then Moscow will take the initiative to hold a similar meeting on the territory of Russia.
