Dr. Ahmad Shahidov spoke about the growing relations between Baku and Doha within the framework of COP29

On November 20, on the 10th day of the COP29 conference, a side event was held at the Qatar pavilion located at the Baku Olympic Stadium, organized by the Qatar National Human Rights Committee and the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change of the State of Qatar, with the support of the Ombudsman Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Social Research Center and the Azerbaijan Institute for Democracy and Human Rights.

The event was attended by Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie, Minister of Environment and Climate Change of the State of Qatar, Mrs. Maryam bint Abdullah Al Atiyya, Head of the Qatar National Human Rights Committee, Mrs. Sabina Aliyeva, Ombudsman of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Zahid Oruj, Member of Parliament, Head of the Social Research Center of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ahmad Shahidov, human rights defender, Head of the Azerbaijan Institute for Democracy and Human Rights, media representatives and representatives of civil society.

Speaking to ARB24 Television after the event, the head of the Azerbaijan Institute for Democracy and Human Rights, human rights defender Dr. Ahmad Shahidov noted that relations between Baku and Doha have expanded at the international level and that there are new opportunities for cooperation between the two countries on climate change.
