The Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan has published a preliminary report on the causes of the crash of the “Embraer-190” aircraft of the “Azerbaijan Airlines” (AZAL) near Aktau airport. The report contains the initial conclusions of experts based on the information obtained after the accident, including the analysis of flight recorders (“black boxes”). The report shows that the Azerbaijani plane was in perfect condition and crashed in Russian airspace as a result of external interference.
Speaking to ARB24 Television on the subject, human rights defender Dr. Ahmad Shahidov said that there is no doubt that the Azerbaijani plane was shot down by air defense systems in Russian airspace. This is a crime and Russia bears responsibility in this matter. Baku is awaiting a response from Moscow.
