“Azerbaijan supports Pakistan’s rightful position on the Kashmir issue” – Ahmad Shahidov speaks to ARB24 Television

Recent tensions in South Asia have refocused international attention on the Kashmir conflict. Clashes along the border between Pakistan and India, diplomatic confrontations, and nuclear threats have caused serious concerns in the region and around the world. While the UN and leading countries have urged both sides to remain cautious and engage in dialogue, the situation in the region is becoming increasingly dangerous.

Considering the relevance of the issue, a broad discussion was held today on ARB24 TV’s “Business Morning” program. Political analyst Ahmad Shahidov provided an in-depth presentation on the historical context, current situation, and potential scenarios regarding the Kashmir issue.

In his speech, Ahmad Shahidov emphasized that the ongoing Kashmir conflict between Pakistan and India is the greatest source of danger for South Asia and poses a serious risk not only to the region but also to global security. He noted that the history of the conflict dates back to 1947, and this problem has led to three large-scale wars.

Ahmad Shahidov particularly highlighted Azerbaijan’s principled stance on the issue, stating that Azerbaijan supports the resolution of the Kashmir problem based on international law and UN resolutions, and explicitly supports Pakistan’s position on this matter. He pointed out that Azerbaijan and Pakistan share a strategic alliance and brotherly relations, and Azerbaijan has always stood by Islamabad’s rightful stance.

During the live broadcast, Ahmad Shahidov also sharply criticized India’s recent military cooperation with Armenia. He stated that India’s provision of modern weapons to Armenia and collaboration with destructive forces in the region is unacceptable to Azerbaijan. He further added that such a policy by India creates a new, dangerous situation in the region and deals a severe blow to the peace process in the South Caucasus.

Ahmad Shahidov emphasized that Azerbaijan considers Armenia’s arming as a threat to the region and views India’s policy as an action contrary to international law and regional stability. He also mentioned that the brotherly relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan, as well as the trilateral cooperation format with Turkey, form a strong political and strategic bloc against such threats.

In conclusion, Ahmad Shahidov stated that the Kashmir issue can only be resolved through peace and dialogue in accordance with international law and principles, and called on the international community to approach this matter in a more principled and fair manner.
