Washington, D.C. — Azerbaijani human rights defender Dr. Ahmad Shahidov has sent a heartfelt message to the people of Pakistan from the capital of the United States. In his statement, Ahmad Shahidov expressed his deep love, respect, and solidarity with the people of Pakistan, calling the bond between Azerbaijan and Pakistan a “true brotherhood built on history, respect, and shared values.”
In his address, Ahmad Shahidov highlighted the special friendship between the two nations, recalling Pakistan’s consistent support for Azerbaijan in difficult times, especially during the 44-day Karabakh War in 2020. He emphasized that the Azerbaijani people will always remember Pakistan’s sincere support and brotherly stance during those critical days.
“As a human rights defender, I have always supported Pakistan’s fair position in international platforms and raised my voice for the people of Kashmir,” Shahidov said: “Justice and human rights have no borders, and the world must listen to the rightful voice of Kashmir.”
Announcing that he will continue his international advocacy work from Washington, D.C., Dr. Ahmad Shahidov affirmed his commitment to be a voice for not only Azerbaijan but also for brother countries Türkiye and Pakistan. He also expressed his gratitude for the numerous supportive messages he has been receiving from Pakistan, stating that they both honor and inspire him.
“I hope to visit Pakistan soon to meet its wonderful people and experience that love and friendship firsthand,” Ahmad Shahidov added.
The Azerbaijani activist concluded his message with a strong call for unity, justice, and peace:
“Long live the Azerbaijan-Pakistan brotherhood! Long live peace, justice, and human rights for all!”
