“Kaja Kallas’ visit is a sign of Western political support for Pashinyan’s government” – Dr. Ahmad Shahidov speaks to ARB24 Television

The visit of Estonian Prime Minister and one of the European Union’s active figures in South Caucasus policy, Kaja Kallas, to Armenia has drawn attention both in the region and internationally. The timing of the visit — coinciding with a tense political atmosphere in Armenia and intensified Azerbaijan-Armenia peace talks — has given this trip special significance.

Speaking on the subject via live broadcast from Washington DC to ARB24 television, political commentator Dr. Ahmad Shahidov stated that this visit is a clear indication of Western political support for Pashinyan’s government:
“Pashinyan is facing serious internal pressure in Armenia. Kaja Kallas’ visit at such a time shows that the West stands behind this government. It also aims to strengthen the West’s active role in the Azerbaijan-Armenia peace negotiations.”

Dr. Ahmad Shahidov further noted that during the visit, new security agreements between Armenia and the European Union would also be discussed, and concrete steps in this direction are expected in the near future.

The political analyst emphasized that Azerbaijan must closely monitor these developments and increase its diplomatic activity to safeguard its national interests.
