Strikes on Russia’s energy infrastructure are a warning from the West – Ahmad Shahidov told ARB24 Television

In recent days, attacks on Russia’s energy infrastructure have become one of the key topics on the international agenda. According to analysts, the continuation of these strikes could deepen fuel shortages and even trigger serious problems in major cities. Such a scenario could increase public discontent and generate broader demands for ending the war. At the same time, the possibility of the West increasing its support for Ukraine, particularly through intelligence sharing aimed at targeting energy infrastructure, has also come into focus.

Speaking to ARB24, political analyst Ahmad Shahidov stated: “Strikes against energy resources can intensify internal tensions in Russia and, amid fuel shortages, increase discontent in major cities. This is a serious factor that can change the course of the war. At the same time, the United States and the West are sending a clear message to Moscow: within a short time, negotiations will be inevitable. If Russia continues its military operations, the use of U.S. weapons by Ukraine to target energy facilities deep inside Russian territory may come to the agenda. This could bring significant consequences both domestically and internationally.”

According to Shahidov, attacks on energy infrastructure are not merely military operations but also a tool to push Russia toward political decisions.
