Tensions between the United States and Iran are rising once again. Iran’s latest conditions for reopening the Strait of Hormuz and continuing negotiations with the United States have weakened the prospects for an agreement between the two sides. At the same time, political and military discussions concerning Iran are continuing in Washington. The current situation in the region is also raising concerns about the possibility of a new escalation.
Political analyst Ahmad Shahidov, who is currently in Washington, told ARB24 Television that Iran’s latest conditions have effectively pushed the US-Iran negotiations into a deadlock. According to Shahidov, the positions of Tehran and Washington remain considerably far apart, and the current picture suggests that the prospects for reaching an agreement in the near future have declined significantly compared with the previous period.
Ahmad Shahidov also pointed to the intensification of weapons production in the US defense industry. The political analyst noted that although Washington continues to keep diplomatic channels open, military preparations are also proceeding in parallel, and this trend increases the possibility of new military operations against Iran. In his assessment, if the current dynamics remain unchanged, the US-Iran confrontation could inevitably enter a new military phase in the near future.
