The Victory Parade showcased Azerbaijan’s strength and the new regional reality – Ahmad Shahidov speaks to ARB24 Television

On November 8 – Victory Day – a grand military parade held in Baku once again demonstrated the power of the Azerbaijani Army, the determination of the state, and the new geopolitical reality taking shape in the South Caucasus. The participation of the Turkish and Pakistani armed forces at the highest level turned the parade into a symbol not only of military might but also of political solidarity. The victory achieved on the battlefield five years ago has now entered a new stage in diplomacy and economic development.

In an interview with ARB24 Television, political analyst Ahmad Shahidov said that the ongoing reconstruction and development process in Karabakh is the result of President Ilham Aliyev’s strong leadership and the government’s strategic planning: “In Karabakh, not only infrastructure but also the model of state governance and administration is being rebuilt. Over the past five years, hundreds of projects have been implemented, including international airports, thousands of kilometers of roads, and railways. This is an unprecedented example of reconstruction in the region. As President Erdoğan noted, the Victory in Karabakh is not only Azerbaijan’s success but a triumph for the entire Turkic world.”

Ahmad Shahidov added that Azerbaijan’s achievements both on the battlefield and at the diplomatic table have shaped a new reality in the region: “The participation of Turkey and Pakistan in the Victory Parade proved that Azerbaijan is not isolated, but surrounded by strong allies. The peace process has also entered a tangible phase. The author and guarantor of the new reality in the South Caucasus is Azerbaijan. Five years ago, this reality was forged on the battlefield; today, it is being formalized politically and legally at the diplomatic table.”
