During a program broadcast on REAL TV, recent developments surrounding Venezuela and the United States’ policy toward the country were discussed. Political commentator Ahmad Shahidov, who joined the program as a guest, stated that Washington’s actions are often misinterpreted.
Ahmad Shahidov emphasized that the US approach toward Venezuela should not be viewed as a classic air strike or an open military intervention: “There is no bombing campaign, no large-scale war, and no occupation scenario. The United States is opting for more rational and modern methods. Control of airspace, intelligence capabilities, and diplomatic and political pressure mechanisms are at the forefront. This reflects the US approach in the 21st century, based on the principle of minimal losses and maximum results.”
According to the political commentator, the primary objective of the US in the Venezuela case is not to create chaos, but to maintain regional and global stability in line with its interests: “For Washington, the key issue is preventing Venezuela from drifting uncontrollably into the sphere of influence of rival powers. The US is not acting hastily or emotionally, but rather through calculated steps. This strategy serves both to preserve balance in global energy markets and to secure long-term strategic interests in the region.”
