The ongoing war in Iran and its possible consequences are currently among the most important issues on the international agenda. Questions such as how long the conflict may last, how American society views the war, the significant financial resources Washington allocates to military operations, as well as Iran’s military potential and the possibility of the conflict expanding geographically are widely discussed.
Speaking on a program broadcast on ARB24 television, political commentator Ahmad Shahidov said that public opinion in the United States regarding the war with Iran is not unanimous and that serious debates are taking place around the issue: “One group within American society considers this war necessary in order to weaken Iran’s military and nuclear potential. Another group believes that a prolonged war could bring serious financial and political consequences for the United States.”
Public opinion in the United States is divided over the Iran war – Ahmad Shahidov told ARB24 TelevisionAhmad Shahidov also noted that there are currently no real negotiations on stopping the military operations and that the sides appear determined to continue the confrontation: “The fact that nearly one billion dollars from the U.S. state budget is spent on this war every day is already causing serious debate in American society. At the same time, the Iranian leadership has stated that it is ready to continue the war until the end. This raises important questions about how long Iran’s missile arsenal can sustain the conflict and whether the geography of the war may expand further.”
