Spy network inside Iran weakens Tehran’s war capability – Ahmad Shahidov speaks to ARB24 Television

Since February 28, 2026, developments around Iran have escalated into an open war. In recent weeks, reports have emerged about the consecutive killings of high-ranking military officials and generals inside the country, alongside the exposure of an extensive spy network. At the same time, Iran continues its strikes against Israel and U.S. military positions in the region, with mutual attacks becoming increasingly intense.

Speaking to ARB24 Television, political analyst Ahmad Shahidov stated that these developments indicate a serious internal security crisis in Iran: “The exposure of spy networks and the targeted elimination of senior figures show that Iran is not only under pressure on the external front, but also facing significant challenges internally. This is no longer a conventional war, but a complex and multi-layered conflict.”

Ahmad Shahidov also noted that the conflict is unlikely to end in the near term: “At this stage, the parties are escalating rather than stepping back. The continuation of Iran’s attacks and the rising regional tensions suggest that this war will not end anytime soon and may lead to more serious consequences for the Middle East.”
