Diplomatic contacts aimed at reducing tensions in the Middle East and restoring the full operation of the Strait of Hormuz are reportedly intensifying. According to reports, a memorandum agreement between the United States and Iran, mediated by Pakistan, is currently on the agenda, and the parties have already reached preliminary agreements on several conditions. Although no official statements have been made, the potential agreement is expected to contribute to regional stability and create positive momentum in global energy markets.
Political analyst Ahmad Shahidov stated in an interview with ARB24 TV that an agreement between the United States and Iran would primarily lead to the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and revitalization in global maritime transportation: “A significant portion of the world’s energy shipments passes through the Strait of Hormuz today. If Washington and Tehran can reach common ground, this will positively affect price stability in energy markets and stimulate international trade.”
Ahmad Shahidov also emphasized that the possible agreement carries not only economic but also political significance: “The normalization of relations between the United States and Iran could mark the beginning of a new phase in reducing long-standing tensions in the Middle East. This process may create a positive political atmosphere for resolving conflicts surrounding Iran and contribute positively to the regional security environment.”
