Ahmad Shahidov talked to Ombudsman of Latvia about prisoners of war, hostages and missing people of Azerbaijan – PHOTO

riga292On 10 May chief of TURSAM Center for Strategic Studies, PhD on Philology Ahmad Shahidov met with Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of Latvia Mr. Juris Jansons in Riga. Ahmad Shahidov thanked to Latvian Ombudsman for kind reception and gave information about Azerbaijan Republic and Nagornoy Karabakh conflict, spoke about refugees and displaced citizens, prisoners of war, hostages and missing people of Azerbaijan.

Characterized Azerbaijan as friend country Latvian Ombudsman Mr. Juris Jansons talked about common past of both countries and said that these two countries keep alive the same traditions nowadays. Latvian Ombudsman emphasized the kind cooperation with Azerbaijan Ombudsman Mrs. Elmira Suleymanova and told that he is informed about tragedies faced by the people of Azerbaijan.

During the meeting chief of TURSAM Ahmad Shahidov gave detailed information about Nagornoy Karabakh conflict, deprivations of rights of a million people and said that thousands of people were killed, hundreds Azerbaijanis are missed during Karabakh war. Armenia doesn’t inform world community about war prisoners, behaves with those prisoners in inhumane manner, removes and sell their internal organs, said Ahmad Shahidov.

Discussed future cooperation issues between Ombudsman Institute of Latvia and TURSAM Center for Strategic Studies and agreed about information exchange. At the end, chief of TURSAM gave to Latvian Ombudsman informative book about prisoners of war, hostages and missing people of Azerbaijan.
