“Russia applies double standards on Nagorno-Karabakh conflict” – Ahmad Shahidov talks to CNN Turk


5N 1K of CNN TV channel gave a coverage on recent escalated tension in the frontline

On April 24, 5N 1K program of CNN TV channel hosted by Cuneyt Ozdemir gave a coverage on Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, recent state in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan, 4 days war which broke in early April and continued peaceful negotiations in the region.

The program featured interviews of MP Adil Aliyev, Hikmet Hajiyev, spokesperson of Azerbaijan`s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ahmad Shahidov, head of the Azerbaijan Institute for Democracy and Human Rights. Commenting on Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Ahmad Shahidov reiterated that world community stands by Azerbaijan on this conflict. He recalled UN Security council’s four resolutions which issued on Nagorno Kharabakh conflict. Head of AIDHR went on to emphasize that Azerbaijan maintain a right to conduct anti-terror military operation and called on international community to pressurize Armenia to withdraw its troops from Azerbaijani lands.

In his remarks Mr. Shahidov underscored that Turkey and Palestine have always supported Azerbaijani’s stance in this conflict by adding Russian influence in the region. He also noted official Kremlin’s double standards towards the conflict.
