On April 24, Head of Azerbaijan Institute for Democracy and Human Rights Dr. Ahmad Shahidov visited the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia in Skopje. Human rights defender met with the Member of Parliament from Party for Movement of the Turks in Macedonia Mr. Enes Ibrahim.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the political situation in Macedonia, the status of the Turks living in the country and other regional issues. Noted that there is less information about Azerbaijan and Azerbaijanis in Macedonia, MP Enes Ibrahim stressed the importance of cooperation in this field. Head of AIDHR Ahmad Shahidov said that in the near future the real steps will be taken in this direction and it will need to establish new level relations with the social and political circles, as well as the civil society of Macedonia. There is a serious need to promote Azerbaijan in Macedonia, added Human rights defender.
