Ahmad Shahidov meets Albanian religious leader Anastasios Yannoulatos

An exchange of views on freedom of religion in Albania was also held during the meeting

Ahmad Shahidov, Head of the Azerbaijan Institute for Democracy and Human Rights, who is on a working visit to Europe, meets the Albanian Christian religious leader Dr. Anastasios Yannoulatos in Tirana. During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on freedom of religion, co-existence of people of different religions and inter-religious dialogue in Albania.

His Beatitude Archbishop of Tirana And Durres, Primate of Albania Dr. Anastasios Yannoulatos said that the Albanian Constitution has attached special importance to the freedom of religion, as a result of which all religions in Albania operate in the atmosphere of peace and brotherhood.

Human rights defender Ahmad Shahidov, who has been in Albania for the first time, highly appreciated the traditions of multiculturalism in this country and called Albania’s success to bring people of different religions and nations together.
