Contrary to the Geneva Conventions on international law and the protocols thereto, Armenia is again refusing to comply with the principles of humanism. It also gives rise to aggressive reaction of the Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to the proposal of the Azerbaijani side regarding the exchange of captives and hostages.
Ahmad Shahidov, head of the Azerbaijan Institute for Democracy and Human Rights, who made a statement to REAL Television, said that the international pressure on the Armenian government will be further increased: “The official Baku responded positively to the proposal of the International Working Group on exchange of captives and hostages, and put forward the principle of “all to all” as a prerequisite. The Armenian side refuses to give concrete answer yet. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s aggressive response to this proposal comes from his political portrait. I think that Armenia remains undecided about the exchange of captives and hostages. In any case it can not be regarded as the final decision of the Armenian side. And we continue our struggle, and we will further increase the international pressure on the Armenian government.”
